Market Simulation System
Market Simulation System
The Market Simulation System application consists of an MS Excel workbook that runs in Excel 2000 or Excel XP, providing a familiar environment for working in. Market simulations are set up on Excel worksheet templates within the workbook, one worksheet per simulation. These simulations can pass simulated market conditions on to other Excel workbooks or MS Access databases.
Each workbook can contain many different worksheet simulations, although only one simulation per workbook may be run at one time.
Workbooks can be used to group related simulations. For instance there might be one workbook set up for every instrument concerned. Each of these workbooks could contain a set of simulations representing different market conditions for that instrument.
Simulations from more than one workbook can be run simultaneously, depending on the power of the computer running them.
The Market Simulator can be run in 'Real-Time' or 'Scaled-Time'
Once the simulation has been set up you have the choice to run it in real-time or scaled-time and starting from any particular time in the (simulated) day.
The time can be scaled from 1 minute=1 minute (real-time) up to 1 minute=60 minutes. At the maximum scaling you can run a 24-hour simulation in 24 minutes.
Linking Market Simulator to an MS Access database brings added benefits
When linking to an Access database, each indivdual simulation worksheet can simulate market conditions for several different currency pairs.
Making use of Access's multi-user facilities allows several different computers to access the same simulation, simultaneously across the network.
